You will be part of a team of 9 staff. Kitchens can be challenging but very rewarding environments; we will work with you to ensure you get the best start to your career as possible. You will be assigned a mentor who has gone through the apprenticeship programme here and knows exactly the challenges you are facing on a daily basis.
What might a day in this job look like?
You will be assisting Senior Chefs deliver quality food to conference delegates. Events at the EICC range from small boardroom meetings to spectacular Gala Dinners for over 2000 people. You will play a vital role helping to maintain high standards while learning.
• Receiving Deliveries and Stock Room duties
• Basic Food Preparation
• Assisting Senior Chefs
• Pastry, Hot and Cold Kitchen development
• Following Health and Safety Legislation
What will I Learn?
We will help you achieve SVQ level 2 in Food preparation and Cooking through practical and theoretical assessment.
RequirementsWhat Qualifications / Qualities are required?
No formal qualifications are sought however you will be enrolled onto an SVQ Level 2 Food Preparation and Cooking which will require a good level of literacy and numeracy.
We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, keen to learn and willing to listen to instructions.
