Job Description

Our Culinary team are the heartbeat of everything we do. We are looking to recruit vibrant, enthusiastic and passionate chefs of all levels to join our Championships brigade!

As a Chef, you will be contributing to the efficient running of one of our many catering units. These include both retail and hospitality units where you will be overseeing production and service of hospitality, self-service and restaurant style settings for up to 500 covers.

Working in teams of up to 20, it is essential that you are resilient, organised, adaptable and a true team player. You will have excellent knowledge of allergens and a keen eye for detail ensuring every dish that leaves the kitchen exceeds our guest expectations!

Roles available: Lead Chef, Sous Chef, Chef de Partie, Commis Chef

Area of work:

  • Hospitality – Our hospitality areas offer plated and buffet menu, serving 40 cover suites to 500 cover seated dining.
  • Restaurants – Exclusive Members Restaurants, Sponsor Areas and The Royal Room, as well as reservation only restaurants such as The Wingfield and The Renshaw, offering 4+ course menus with afternoon tea and supper.
  • Retail & Public – There are many retail areas across site offering varied hot and cold food options which serve the 42,000 members of the public who are expected on site each day.
  • Self-Service – Exclusive Areas that serve Competitors, Debenture Holders and Members Enclosure Areas as well as Media and Press Areas that have high customer engagement and high-profile guests.

Chef responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • To ensure efficient production of all meals and services to the specification standards at all times
  • To maintain a positive presence in your kitchen, encouraging the development of young culinary talent and being actively involved in our reward and recognition schemes
  • Provide the highest standard of customer service in any customer facing areas, at all times
  • To ensure the methods of preparation and presentation comply with Food & Drink at Wimbledon standards as determined by the unit's food specification manual
  • To minimise food waste and be conscious of our sustainability practices within your unit
  • In given areas of responsibility, to control menus, food preparation standards, ordering, receiving and checking of deliveries and any other relevant paperwork and administration.
  • Comply with all Company policies including site rules, health and safety, safe working practices, food hygiene, cleanliness, fire safety and COSHH
  • To ensure the security of stores and other areas of potential loss
  • Adherence to Food & Drink at Wimbledon uniform and personal hygiene standards at all times
